What it found

The 2025 Singles in America study, based on a demographically representative sample of 5,001 U.S. singles aged 18 to 98, finds that 46% report feeling ready for a long-term relationship, a shift away from casual encounters. It also finds AI use in dating rose more than 300% since 2024, with nearly half of Gen Z singles reporting AI use in their dating life. Now in its 14th year, the study's main value lies in its time series rather than any single year's figures.

Why it matters for practice

This is commissioned by a dating company, so figures on relationship readiness and AI adoption should be read as industry-sponsored rather than independent research; useful for tracking directional trends over time, less so as a standalone evidentiary source.
